... through wild areas of dense forest along Mangdi Chu River to Wildlife sanctuary of Manas near Indian border. The area of Khen Dzonghka has very little contact with the outside world and the ethnic tribes of Khengpas lead a life quite different with rest of Bhutan.

This trek is ideal for winter months where there are lot of snow condition up in the higher elevation. Manas Wildlife Park is the home for many endangered wildlife such as Royal Bengal tiger, rhinoceros, spotted deer, and many species of birdlife.

Itinerary:

Day 01 Arrive Paro, transfer to Hotel.

Day 02 Full day sightseeing tour of Paro. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 03 Drive to Thimpu and check into Hotel.

Day 04 Full day sightseeing tour of Thimpu. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 05 Drive to Tongsa and check into Hotel.

Day 06 Drive to Shermgang and check into Lodge/Guest House

Day 07 Start trek from Yebl Lapcha towards Mangdichu and camt at Zurphey.

Day 08 Trek and camp at Gongphu (585 m.)

Day 09 Trek to Panthang along the river banks to lower altitude of about 100 ft and camp.

Day 10 Trek to Panthang after crossing the river by bamboo bridges. It is the confluence of Tashigang and Mangdi Chu Rivers within an altitude of 800 ft.

Day 11 Trek along the banks of the river to the plains of Manas. After crossing the river on a wooden ferry,we finally arrive at Manas Wildlife Sanctuary (500 ft).

Day 12 Day at leasure. Overnight at Camp.

Day 13 Exploration of Manas Wildife Sanctuary on an elephant back. Overnight at Camp.

Day 14 Drive to Siliguri and check into Hotel.

Day 15 Transfer to Bagdogra airport or Bhadrapur for final departure.
