Annapurna I - 8091m. |
| |
Annapurna would translate into "The Goddess
rich in Sustenance" or simply "The Provider".
It was the first eight thousanders to be climbed,
this feat was accomplished by the French.
However, all the routes on the mountain pose
severe difficulties and hence it is probably why
fewer climbers have reached the summit in comparison
to other 80000m peaks.

Manaslu - 8163m. |
| |
| Manaslu lies in the Nepal Himalaya,
Kali Gandaki valley.
This mountain was previously known as Kutan l.
'tang' being the Tibetan word for flat place,
thereby describing the mountain's general summit.
It was then renamed Manaslu which comes from the
Sanskrit word "Manasa" meaning "intellect" or
"soul". It was first climbed by T.Imanishi &
g. Norbu in 1956.
Many consider the three peaks of Manaslu as Japanese
peaks as they were the first to reach its summit
in 1956. there exist half a dozen different routes
on Manaslu today. The south face of this "mountain
of intellect" is arguably the toughest in climbing
history.
Our caravan route takes off at Sama Gaon.

Putha Hiunchuli - 7246m. |
| |
| The Dhaulagiri range is made
up of some of the world's most impressive peaks.
This mountain is the last 7000er marking the
end of the snow-capped range.
Our trek begins at the trading town of Dunai,
which is about a week's walk away from the German
Base Camp situated at an altitude of 4,525m.
Though the climb is technically challenging there
are many possible routes that may be explored.
Putha Hiunchuli's south slopes present easy access
to the different summit's base camps but the ascents
route is technically difficult due to the many
ridges and seracs.

Tilicho Peak - 7134m. |
| |
| In 1950 when Maurice Herzog and
his French team reached the Tilicho Pass in the
hope to discover Annapurna.
The first eight thousand meters they will climb
on June, 3rd of the same year, they saw only a
big frozen lake and a huge impassable mountain
wall. Annapurna was elsewhere
! From that
day that wall has been called the Great
Barrier.
The route we follow will start at Jomsom and
we will first trek up to the Dhampus Pass (5210m)
in order to progressively well acclimatize. We
retrace our steps down till Marpha before crossing
the Kali Gandaki river to trek towards the base
camp through the Mesokanto Pass at 5100m altitude.
Our base camp will be settled at Tilicho lake
side.
